Ashington Neighbourhood Plan
Overview
ECE Planning are delighted to have secured the allocation of 150 homes, access, landscaping and community and sporting facilities within the Ashington Neighbourhood Development Plan in West Sussex. Horsham District Council formally ‘made’ the Neighbourhood Plan at Full Council on Wednesday 23 June 2021 following a successful referendum that resulted in a 82% ‘yes’ vote in favour of the Plan by the Ashington community.
We have been working on behalf of the landowners for a number of years, promoting the site for inclusion and allocation within the Neighbourhood Plan. This involved establishing close working relationships with the Ashington Steering Group, Parish Council, District Council, numerous statutory and non- statutory stakeholders and consultation with the local community. Representations were made at all stages of the plan-making process alongside masterplanning work and the coordination of third party experts where required.
The made Neighbourhood Plan allocates 220 homes, of which 150 homes are within our client’s site alongside allotments, land safeguarded for school expansion, extensive open space and recreation areas, formal grass and all-weather football pitches and potential sports pavilion for the community.
