Brighton Bilingual Primary School
Overview
ECE Planning has been working closely with ECE Architecture, Kier Construction, the Education Funding Agency and staff and parents to secure planning consent for a new purpose built school for the exciting and innovative Bilingual Primary School – Brighton & Hove.
The new home for the Bilingual Primary School which, since its opening in September 2012 has had its temporary home at Brighton Aldridge Community Academy, will provide up to 630 much-needed primary school places in a purpose built school in the heart of Brighton & Hove.
ECE Project Director Chris Barker explains how significant constraints and difficulties were overcome:
“Located within a Conservation Area and adjacent to a number of Listed Buildings, the proposal had to overcome significant conservation issues; these were successfully addressed within the design prepared by ECE Architecture which provided the necessary accommodation within a two storey building.
Further to these heritage issues, our application successfully addressed the Councils and local residents concerns in relation to traffic and parking.”
