Fulbeck Avenue, Worthing
Overview
Alongside ECE Architecture and on behalf on behalf of our client (Skanska and IKEA-owned) BoKlok, ECE Planning gained approval for a new sustainable residential development of 152 new homes on Land West of Fulbeck Avenue, Worthing.
The eco friendly proposals, which will provide much needed affordable housing in Worthing, were considered at Worthing Planning Committee in May 2021. ECE Planning Director Chris Barker spoke in favour of the application, promoting the highly sustainable and modular form of development. He said,
“The modular construction methods used by BoKlok Housing result in a more efficient build programme, which can be up to 50% faster, which means that these units could be occupied within 2021, aiding to meet the Councils pressing housing needs.”
BoKlok originated in Sweden and translates quite simply as Live Smart. They deliver high-quality, modular housing utilising Modern Methods of Construction, which have smaller carbon footprints – 50% less in fact – than traditional brick developments. Their construction methods reduce overall build time and the disruptive impact on local communities, both in terms of noise and vehicle movements.
Overall, a great result for the ECE Team, including Chris Barker & Sam Sykes.
