Land East Of Keymer Road And South Of Folders Lane, Burgess Hill
Overview
ECE Planning is pleased to announce the successful approval of a residential development site in Burgess Hill. This accomplishment was achieved through a collaborative effort involving Thakeham Homes, Persimmon (Charles Church Developments), and close cooperation with the Local Planning Authority (LPA) following a comprehensive public consultation exercise. The outcome: consent granted for 260 thoughtfully designed and sustainable dwellings, expansive green spaces and ecological areas.
Our approach included detailed pre-application discussions with local planning officers, followed by a number of Design Review Panel meetings. A comprehensive planning application was then submitted. Notably, landscape and visual impact assessments played a pivotal role in our scheme’s design, considering the unique setting adjacent to the South Downs National Park and adhering to the allocation policy’s landscape-centric approach.
We are proud to note that this development marks a significant milestone — it is the first 100% zero-carbon development of this scale to receive approval within Mid Sussex. Moreover, despite the ecological challenges posed by the site, we achieved a Biodiversity Net Gain of +10%.
