ECE Planning were delighted to receive resolution to grant approval from Lewisham Planning Committee recently, for two new beautifully designed family homes in Blackheath, on behalf of Shaptor Capital.
Designed by Gruff Architecture, the two contemporary new homes replace an office building at the rear of Grade II listed buildings that front Tranquil Vale, the main commercial street through Blackheath Village. The scheme demonstrates the highest standards of design, appearance, use of materials and layout which responds positively to the surrounding heritage environment, including the Blackheath Conservation Area and numerous listed buildings.
The proposals include a high quality hard and soft landscaping scheme around the front courtyard area and within the garden areas, utilising permeable paving and SUDS systems.
The designs utilise environmentally sustainable strategies including passive design to allow natural lighting and ventilation, solar photo-voltaic roof tiles, insulative and air-tight building envelope and rainwater harvesting.
Support at planning committee was achieved after lengthy consultation and engagement with Lewisham Council over a period of over 3 years.
