Following our report earlier this year that we had received resolution to grant planning permission, we can now confirm that full planning permission has been granted for the phased masterplan proposals for the Sussex County Cricket Ground in Hove. Works on site will commence later this year.
The proposals, in the form of a Hybrid Planning Application, include the redevelopment of the Cricket Ground to provide for exceptional hospitality and community facilities for all users of the ground, 37no residential apartments, commercial space, a new public house/restaurant and public realm improvements.
Sussex Cricket Chief Executive, Rob Andrew said:
“The County Ground has been based in Hove for nearly 150 years and we are thrilled that this allows us to secure our future here and to continue to deliver our wide-reaching community programmes across Sussex.”
