Planning Permission at Pelham Street, Brighton

You are here: Latest News >

We are delighted to have secured reserved matters planning approval on behalf of Osborne Developments for 135 new residential units, landscaping and access at Pelham Street in Brighton. The scheme features a mixture of one, two and three bed apartments as well as four family townhouses in a sustainable location in the heart of the North Laine.

The development is virtually car free and includes significant levels of cycle parking, shared amenity and recreation areas and also a wide range of private spaces for residents. The apartments have high sustainability and carbon reduction credentials utilising a fabric first approach to energy reduction, green and blue roof systems and an all-electric approach to services.

The site lies within a high density urban environment with a number of heritage assets nearby, requiring careful consideration to scale, massing, design and layout. Presented at Planning Committee by Associate Director, Karen Tipper, ECE Planning secured resolution to grant permission in January 2021, following a protracted process of Pre Application and planning application negotiation with Officers.
