ECE Charity Fundraising

ECE prides itself on being a socially responsible Practice with charity being a fundamental part of our culture. We have always been active in our charitable endeavours, but in 2022 we were keen to put in extra effort, especially following two years of legislative restrictions making fundraising challenging.

ECE’s charities for 2022 were Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice and our guest charity for the year, SHOUT WSK, better known as Worthing Soup Kitchen. Both charities presented lunchtime talks to the ECE team at the beginning of the year, giving a real insight into the amazing work they do and how our fundraising would help.

The ECE fundraising effort included a wide range of activities that took place throughout the year.  We saw team members take challenges including the Brighton Marathon, Edinburgh Marathon, and the River Arun 3.8km swim. A group from ECE took part in the Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice Nurses Steps Challenge which involved participants walking 10,000 steps for each day in February. Our Associates organised a client golf day with charity donation forfeits, and studio events organised by the team were included a charity chess night, table tennis tournament, fantasy football league, as well as a World Cup sweepstake.

We were delighted to host our third Charity Cricket Day at Sussex County Cricket Ground, clients and contacts supported the event with 15 teams entered in a day of fun cricket, with amazing weather and the perfect venue.

As well as the donations raised, ECE was able to make regular meeting room space available for the locally based charity Olly’s Future. The team have also been donating food to the Worthing Soup Kitchen food bank throughout the year, and made a donation in lieu of sending Christmas cards.

During the year ECE raised just over £8,000 for our charities, a fantastic effort. It was not only the monetary sum raised, but ECE were also proud to raise awareness for the charities.

We are honoured to again support Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice in 2023. Planning for the fundraising activities for 2023 is already underway and we hope that we can be even more successful in our charity efforts in the new year.
