On Sunday 16th September 2018, Chris Barker (Managing Director), Sam Sykes (Associate Planner) and Adam Staniforth (Finance Director) represented Chestnut Tree House Childrens Hospice at the Brighton & Hove Triathlon.

With a keen cyclist, swimmer and runner in the business, many conversations have been had as to combining forces to enter a relay Triathlon. Months of training has been devoted to ensuring the debut triathletes were in the best possible condition for the event.

Chestnut Tree House Childrens Hospice is a charity ECE have supported for a number of years with the hospice celebrating its 15th year in 2018. To give extra motivation to the ECE Planning team the donation target of £500 was raised prior to race day, with total at time of writing this article at £800. Anyone wishing to donate further can do so at:

Finally it was Race Day, conditions were windy along Hove promenade and in the sea. The swim course was reduced from 1500 metres to 400 meters. Team ECE Planning performed really well and we are delighted to announce that the Team finished in 2nd place. After the race Chris Barker, Manging Director of ECE Planning said “A great team effort for such a fantastic charity. We all thoroughly enjoyed the event. Thank you to all our sponsors who have given so generously to Chestnut Tree House. “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts” which is so apt when working together for such a worthy cause. Roll on 2019.”

The office conversations have already began as to how improve transition times for next year….
